Other Early Music sites:
- The Open Directory Project list of early music organizations - worldwide but still growing - compiled by volunteer effort (so you too can volunteer to become an editor)
- Early Music FAQ - "The web's largest reference for European Medieval and Renaissance music since 1994"
- The Early Music Directory - "a practical and ‘user-friendly’ tool for promoters wishing to create programmes by choosing performers and ensembles". Strange layout: find where it says "alphabetical index", and click there. Good links to venues, promoters, groups, and other material.
- Early Music West Midlands - consolidated site for several relevant organisations
- Early Music Scotland - Events list for Scotland plus links to Scottish early music sites
- TeesMusic has an excellent list of musical organisations in the Middlesbrough/Stockton area, together with a list of events by date. Not limited to early music but happily includes it.
- National Association for Early Music - parent organisation for the Early Music Forums.
- Viola da Gamba Society of America (good site with notable video clips: e.g. watch a well-known violmaker demonstrate how to straighten a bridge safely; lots of links, whimsies, etc) .
- Wikipedia - a 'wiki' is a web site which visitors can add information to, so that knowledge will accumulate. Takes a bit of getting used to but can have really useful info - try putting 'Purcell' into the search box. This link goes to the Early Music entry in 'Wikipedia', described as 'The Free Encyclopedia'. Readers are invited to add further information to it.
- The North East Recorder Orchestra, based in Newcastle, is not specifically aimed at early music but will probably have some.
